When
Pauline was 10, she knew there was a life to be lived in images. The
call of the playground was not as strong as her need to finish a drawing.
Pauline studied painting at the Central School of Art and Design and
did a postgrad, at the Slade.
Gradually she became enmeshed in a kind of Photo Realism. A series
of life events caused her to nosedive during recovery her work gained
a robustness and spontaneity that had leached away. In 1990 she then
discovered her painting territory and lines of exploration, and shifted
from egg tempera to oil. Pauline is now wanting to show this body
of work. |
