Mervyn Peake

author and illustrator, born in China 1911. Produced his masterwork
"The Gormenghast Trilogy" in the 1940's, for which he both
wrote and illustrated the text. The drawing reproduced above is a
sketch for "Titus Alone", it was not used however in the
final version of the book. Other drawings and first editions are available
on request. |
