Paul
Rumsey was born in Essex, England. He works in charcoal on paper,
in tones rather than lines.
His work is in the tradition of Grotesque, from Bruegel and Arcimboldo
to Goya, Redon and Kubin
He calls his work 'metaphoric realism', he uses visual metaphors to
portray the world. The image are ambiguous, often both comic and disturbing,
many of the ideas coming from dreams. The
Henry Boxer Gallery can arrange commissions by this artist.
